How can you improve welcoming people to your Church?
1. Welcomers outside – aim to welcome and give a welcomers pack
2. Welcomers inside at the front door - Handout
weekly bulletin and have welcomers packs in case they did not get one
from the outside
3. Welcome Pack – the aim of the pack is to give
people an idea of what your church does. Not only tell people about
what ministrires are done but opportubites for them for ministry for
the future, if they join.
4. Visitors book – Seek name, address phone and email
5. Have a fill in form - that people hand back in with the offering.
6. Welcomers after church – Have people looking out
for visitors as this time after church can be very awkward , especially
if they feel ignored
7. Get contact details – If they have not put down their details yet get them by asking , so you can followup.
8. Welcome letter – from the address details post
them a welcome letter on Monday with some ideas of what is coming up
9. Personal visit –have someone call in and drop off
an info pack, This allows people to either leave quickly or stay and
chat.
10. Facebook/twitter – Have a Face book and Twitter
site for the church with at least weekly updates and send the details
to their email address.
11. Email newsletters – once a weekly send a short email of one or two things coming up for the church.
12. Newcomers welcome night. Depending on how often
you get visitors invite people to a free BBQ to share the vision of the
Church.
13. Annual vision Sermon – Once a year have a Church
Purpsoe and vsion sermon and invite all past visitors to come
14. Annual future Direction sermon – Either late in
the year for the following year or Early in the year have a sermon that
outlines where the church hopes to go in the next twelve months
